About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The journal Diálogo has the mission of publishing scientific articles, reviews, interviews, technical articles, and records of academic debates related to the fields of Applied Social Sciences (Administration, Communication, Design, and Economics) as well as Human Sciences (Anthropology, Political Science, Geography, and Sociology) that contribute to the development of theoretical and methodological knowledge in these areas. It is emphasized that the journal aims to provide an interdisciplinary perspective on the field of the Creative Economy. In addition, it seeks to expand relationships between Brazilian and international researchers through the reach of electronic media.
Diálogo accepts for publication works produced by domestic and foreign authors, members of the faculty and students of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), that deal with topics related to the Creative Economy, resulting from theoretical studies, research, reflections on business practices, debates, etc. Articles submitted to the journal must be unpublished, meaning not yet published in any other journal or book. Works presented or published in the proceedings of scientific events are accepted. In such cases, the event and the year should be informed at the time of submission.
Publications are encouraged in the following topics:
- Experience design and innovation strategies;
- Creative economy, development, and territory;
- Strategic management of creative sectors;
- Communication and marketing of creative sectors;
- Competitive intelligence for creative sectors;
- Information technology for creative sectors;
- Cultural consumption.
Peer Review Process
The evaluation process includes the following steps:
- Initial evaluation (desk review) conducted by the editors assessing the adequacy of the work's theme to Dialogue with the Creative Economy, its potential contribution to the study area, and the formal requirements established in the submission guidelines previously defined by the journal, along with a plagiarism check. In cases of non-compliance with the submission guidelines and instances of plagiarism, the work is rejected and the author(s) duly informed.
- The second stage involves review by the reviewers, where the works, with no author identification, are evaluated by at least two reviewers using a double-blind review process to assess content and methodology. The reviewers fill out an evaluation form indicating the strengths and weaknesses of the articles and recommending whether to reject, return for revisions, or accept.
- If there are discrepancies between the two reviewers, a third evaluation is requested, also in a blind review.
- If reviewers suggest improvements for publication, the work is returned to the authors and, after their revisions, is resubmitted to the reviewers to verify the fulfillment of the requests. The evaluation result is communicated to the author(s), accompanied by a summary of the reviews.
- In the event of suspected plagiarism or misconduct regarding an article published in Dialogue with the Creative Economy, the ESPM Rio Research Ethics Committee will be activated to endorse the editors' decision, which will be supported by the Collegiate Committee of the Professional Master's Program in Creative Economy Management at ESPM Rio, or suggest procedures that best address the situation that may have occurred.
